Nearly 100 Configura CET Designer® users and dealers and their respective manufacturers convened in Las Vegas Oct. 1-2 for the first CET Designer User Conference in North America.

“The two-day event was a huge success,” Configura CEO Johan Lyreborn said. “The number of attendees – and their feedback – exceeded our expectations. We plan to hold more conferences in the future, potentially annually.”

Dealers and manufacturers gathered at The Luxor hotel to give Configura, maker of the CET Designer software and its Extensions, feedback on what they want from the tool in the future.

Users also participated in a CET Designer Academy with advanced sessions in use of the software and its Extensions.

Attendees then met in breakout sessions with their respective manufacturers:

  • * Haworth – to discuss the Canvas Extension
  • * Steelcase – to discuss the SmartTools Extension
  • * Teknion – to discuss the Storyboard Extension

A special evening reception was held offsite at Haworth dealer Faciliteq, which earlier this year was awarded the contract by Frank Gehry Partners to furnish the interior of the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute under construction in Las Vegas. Motor coaches bringing attendees to the reception drove by the almost-completed institute en route to Faciliteq, giving a glimpse of the iconic structure.

The conference was free to attendees. “We are actively seeking feedback from our users – and offering the conference for free was a way of saying ‘thank you’ to them. Our users are truly our partners in the process of making CET Designer the leading design-spec-ordering tool,” Configura Marketing Director Johan Bengtsson said.

To continue the dialogue, Configura is building an online user community of CET Designer users, with additional details to follow in the coming months.

CET Designer received a Best of NeoCon Gold Award in June. The software is now used by more than half of all Haworth dealers. The Steelcase and Teknion Extensions launched earlier this year and subscriptions are being sold across North America.
