Configura wins Best of NeoCon Gold

Configura received top honors for CET Designer 2.0 at NeoCon 2008, winning a Best of NeoCon Gold Award. Two years ago, CET Designer received a Best of NeoCon Silver along with collaborator Haworth when the software launched in North America. CET Designer is design and specifying software for the office furniture industry and now also includes Steelcase and Teknion as clients.

A collaboration with ProjectMatrix offers an extension, ProjectSymbols, which has 80 percent of the industry’s products, making Configura CET Designer a complete design, specifying and rendering solution for designers and dealers.

Configura is at the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2008 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, June 9-11, demo’ing software and offering training sessions. The Sweden-based company with a U.S. office in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is in Booth 7-7046, Configura representatives from both Sweden and Grand Rapids will be attending, including CEO Johan Lyreborn and nationally known designer/trainer Cate Sword.

The Sweden-based company with a U.S. office in Grand Rapids, Michigan, makes CET Designer, design and specification software extensions used by Steelcase, Haworth and Teknion dealers. Located in Booth 7-7046, Configura representatives from both Sweden and Grand Rapids will be attending, including CEO Johan Lyreborn and nationally known designer/trainer Cate Sword.

Configura released Version 2.0 of its NeoCon-award-winning CET Designer software earlier this month. See demos showing how users can now work with large projects and big drawings, start to finish … plus see previews of coming CET Designer version working in a real-time fully rendered 3D environment and navigating fast through huge drawings.

Steelcase, Haworth and Teknion dealers will especially benefit from CET Designer demos.

  • Steelcase Inc. launched Steelcase SmartTools, Steelcase’s Extension powered by CET Designer, on
    May 19.

  • Haworth’s Extension, Canvas, has been used by Haworth dealers since 2006.

  • An Extension for Teknion, Storyboard, also launched earlier this year.

  • Last year, a collaboration with ProjectMatrix resulted in an Extension called ProjectSymbols for CET Designer, which gives CET users instant access to ProjectMatrix’s vast AutoCAD symbols library. Because it represents 80 percent of industry products, the collaboration makes CET Designer a solution for
practically the entire commercial furniture industry.

Configura Wins Best of NeoCon 2006 Silver Award in the Software Technologies Category

CET Designer with the Haworth Canvas Extension Wins Best of NeoCon Silver Award

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – June 12, 2006 – CET Designer with the Canvas Extension won a best of NeoCon Silver Award for software technologies at the annual industry trade show in Chicago. The award was give to Configura, Inc. and Haworth, Inc.
The first and only parametric and configuration-driven tool on the market, CET Designer addresses some of the most critical steps in the process of selecting and specifying office furniture and interiors. Through rapid graphical configuration, it creates layouts in 2D, 3D and/or in rendered form, bridging gaps in information communication among dealers, customers and specifiers. For dealers, it reduces cost and error, and improves quality and cycle time. For customers and specifiers, it offers truer views of layouts, easy and immediate changes, and faster access to information.

CET Designer is the foundation for the Haworth Canvas Extension. Canvas includes several product catalogs from Haworth, as well as specific functionality that allows Haworth and its dealers to customize CET Designer to meet their precise needs.
The Best of NeoCon competition honors new products introduced to the U.S. market since the close of the previous year’s competition. Award sponsors include Contract magazine, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the McMorrow Report, and Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. Configura is on display the Configura exhibit, space 2017 on the eighth floor of the Merchandise Mart, during NeoCon 2006, June 12-14.
