Spacefile’s SpaceTools Extension Launches

Configura CET Designer® Extension For Storage Solutions Will Be Used by Spacefile, Haworth, Steelcase and Teknion dealers

Configura Inc. today announced that Spacefile International Corp has launched SpaceTools by Spacefile, CET Designer’s new Extension for planning and designing storage and filing solutions.

The SpaceTools Extension is loaded with high-density storage and filing products and powered by CET Designer, Configura’s Best of NeoCon-awardwinning software for designing and specifying office furniture and interiors.

“Spacefile and Configura have collaborated over the past year to produce SpaceTools, which is an open Extension that current CET Designer users can take advantage of. It is another facet to Extension technology that makes CET Designer a complete solution for our users,” Configura CEO Johan Lyreborn said.

As an open Extension, SpaceTools is compatible with Steelcase’s SmartTools®, Haworth’s Canvas, Teknion’s Storyboard and all other CET Extensions, allowing users to incorporate Spacefile’s high-density storage and filing products in their office designs.

“The speed and accuracy of the Extension is amazing! We can create 2D and 3D product layouts complete with architectural walls and other manu-facturers’ furniture in the matter of minutes,” Spacefile President John Harkness said. “Before SpaceTools, our process of creating 2D Spacefile layouts used to take much longer.”

SpaceTools provides accurate specifications and up-to-date, easy-to-access pricing and parts lists for all of Spacefile’s high-density products so designers can quickly and efficiently complete floor plans. The Extension also creates easy-to-read documentation, precise layouts and photo-realistic 3D renderings that can be sent directly to all audiences - customer, dealer, manufacturer, and installer – in PDF or JPG formats.

“The SpaceTools Extension is very user-friendly and easy to learn. Anyone can change design features such as system height configurations and colors with the click of a mouse,” Harkness said. “All of the components are there for you and the program greatly reduces specification errors by linking the drawing to the parts list.”

Spacefile will demo CET Designer with the SpaceTools Extension at NeoCon in Chicago this June at Booth 7-6042.

Configura released CET Designer Version 2.2 in April. In addition to featuring Spacefile, Steelcase, Haworth and Teknion products, a partnership with ProjectMatrix (ProjectSymbols) provides CET Designer users access to more than 80 percent of the products in the commercial furniture industry.
