Keynote speaker for the User Conference announced: L.A. architect Joey Shimoda

L.A.-based architect Joey Shimoda, AIA, headlines Configura’s 2nd annual CET Designer® User Conference this Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Las Vegas.

Principal and Founder of Shimoda Design Group, he is well-known for designing Steelcase’s Santa Monica WorkLife center and Steelcase’s Chicago Merchandise Mart showroom. He also designed the Rolex building in Beverly Hills and NoKA Chocolate’s headquarters in Texas. 

Shimoda has worked in Italy and London; his designs reach across the globe to as far away as Tokyo. In addition to working for two of L.A.’s most renowned architectural firms, he spent a brief time in the office of world-famous architect Frank Gehry where he worked on both the Barcelona, Spain Olympic Village and Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall projects. 

Shimoda founded Shimoda Design Group on Valentine’s Day 2000. Currently the firm has ongoing projects in Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.
