Configura releases CET Designer® Version 2.3

Configura has released CET Designer® Version 2.3, the Best of NeoCon Gold award-winning software for designing and specifying office space used by Haworth, Steelcase, Teknion, Spacefile and soon, Mepal, dealers.

Add panoramic backgrounds with 2.3 Create a realistic environment outside the window. Choose from daylight, city skyline at dusk and city skyline at night, with more options coming soon.

CET Designer 2.3 offers a set of new features in the Calculation dialog, new rendering options and the ability to place panorama views outside windows in buildings – enhancing the creative experience.

CET Movie Studio – released November 23

A free CET Movie Studio Extension available November 23 with Version 2.3 lets users create, edit and save movies in CET Designer, so they can give clients a virtual, 3D, fly-thru experience of their space.

Google SketchUp™ Interface

CET Designer 2.3 supports the import of Google SketchUp™ objects with a new Extension developed by Configura. Users can choose from a huge library of objects that can be added to drawings for more realistic impressions. This Extension also is free to CET users.

Revit® “RevLink” Extension launched

Configura launched its Revit Extension at the 2nd annual CET Designer User Conference in Las Vegas. Dubbed RevLink, the Extension is free to all to CET Designer users.

RevLink enables Configura’s manufacturing clients to create and post families of CET objects (their products). These families will be available and downloadable to architects, designers, dealers – anyone who helps to create buildings and office space – in order to design a truly realistic environment, populated with furniture and other accessories.

Powerful graphics engine for large projects

The release of CET Designer® Version 2.2 in April included a new graphics engine, which expanded the ability of the software to handle projects with hundreds of workstations – projects that require very large drawings. CET Designer doesn’t require AutoCAD (or knowledge of it), although users have access to an easy-to-use interface to import AutoCAD drawings and export to AutoCAD.

CET Designer Extensions include Haworth’s Canvas, Steelcase’s SmartTools, Teknion’s Storyboard and Spacefile’s Spacetools. Configura’s collaboration with ProjectMatrix, the ProjectSymbols Extension, additionally gives users access to more than 80 percent of the office furniture symbols in the contract-furniture industry.
