CET Developer 2524.0 Release
By now you should all have already received the update notification to update to the latest version of Operator / CET Developer. Here's what's included in the release:
- Added visual indicator for when an installation is happening in a separate window
- This is to help folks when performing a fresh installation of CET Developer. Because of limitations of Windows security, we have to re-open the installer with heightened priveledges. In some situations, the new installer is hidden or off screen, with not visual indication that anything is happening. This change is to give a better indication that installation is continuing in the second window
- Added button to perform a clean start of CET
- Primarily target folks that test CET via CET Developer. We've added a 'clean' button to perform a clean shutdown from withing CET Developer. This takes us a step closer to removing the need for testers to have to learn and use emacs.
- Updated Access Token URL
- For some time, the link in the setup screen to update your GitLab access token has been incorrect, leading to a 404. The link has been fixed to point to the correct location.
- Updated Dev Center link to lead to the Developer Portal
- This button used to take you to a very odd page on MyConfigura with a grab-bag of random links and features that was poorly maintained. The button now takes you to the Developer Portal; a grab-bag of less random links and features that is actively maintained.
- Fixed COP release not respecting updated version
- In some situations the cop release command, when provided with a version to update to, would correctly update the versions, but fail to actually build with those new versions. This has been fixed.
- Fixed COP incorrectly grouping packages based on package name
- The internal logic for determining what MyConfigura project an extension belonged to was.......not great. This has been fixed.
- Fixed failure to pull/prune git repositories
- A lot of user of CET Developer have seen the bug where, upon performing a 'pull' of base, they would get hit with an error message saying something to the effect of a lock file being present in their git repo. This has been fixed
Known Issue
We've already gotten reports from several who have installed the update that they are seeing this crash information after starting CET Developer:
For now, just know that you can click the 'OK' button and keep working unhindered. We're gonna see if we can sneak out a quick fix for it. If you get a notification about an update in the next day or so, it's just to fix that issue.
