Behavior change with 17.0 Minor
Typically, Configura makes a best effort to avoid interface/behavior changes during off-major releases, with the occasional exception of new features. However, there was a change that was made in 17.0 Major that has impacted enough users that we feel it is necessary to revert the change for the upcoming 17.0 Minor release.
In 17.0 Major, we released a change that caused PartTagEnv::putExplicitTag() to be invoked in the function replaceSnapperTags() (cm/core/partTag/partTagsInWorld.cm). Unfortunately, this triggered substantial side-effects at times when developers were expecting there to be no side-effects. This has affected enough users that we have decided to revert this change as part of the upcoming Minor release.
If you are unfamiliar with this change from 17.0 Major and have made no adaptations for it, you can safely disregard this; we are only reverting back to pre-existing behavior. If you are interested in validating that your extension is not affected, the RC has been updated to include this revert.
