Q: Can you briefly describe your thesis project and what problem it aimed to solve? Wilhelm: My thesis project focused on automating the translation of design artifacts, specifically icons and system variables, from Figma into executable code. The goal was to streamline the design-to-development workflow, reducing manual tasks, improving consistency, and enhancing collaboration between designers and developers! Q: How would you describe your experience working with Configura? Wilhelm: I enjoyed my experience working at Configura. The workplace culture was welcoming, and being in the office allowed me to interact directly with senior colleagues who provided valuable insights, mentorship, and constructive feedback throughout my project. This supportive environment significantly enhanced my learning experience! Q: What made you choose Configura for your thesis project? Wilhelm: I have always been passionate about design and visualization, and I had heard many positive things about Configura from older students. And a big plus is that it is a really nice office in the center of town :) Q: Has this experience sparked your interest in any specific area? Wilhelm: Yes, it sparked a new interest in design thinking methodologies and cloud development (AWS). The project allowed me to explore these areas deeply, providing practical insights and hands-on experience that piqued my curiosity for future learning and career paths. Q: What part of the experience surprised you the most (in a good or bad way)? Wilhelm: What surprised me most for my master thesis, was that I had a lot of independent opportunities to try things and use Configura’s resources. So in regards to these resources, I received direct input on UX design choices, software architecture decisions, and AWS cloud practices from experienced professionals. This freedom significantly enriched my learning experience Q: In what ways do you think this experience has helped you grow, personally or professionally? Wilhelm: I Would say helped me grow a lot, especially as a developer! Getting help and feedback from senior developers helped me create an even better prototype, combined with having feedback from designers in regards to usability. This cooperation between designers and developers helped me grow more professionally and prepared me for working within the industry as a fullstack developer! Q: What advice would you give to someone who is currently in the process of looking for a thesis project? Wilhelm: My advice would be to just apply and embrace opportunities that come your way. It begins by simply reaching out, engaging in conversations with companies, and exploring potential topics and future career possibilities. Don't hesitate to ask questions, be open-minded, and seize every opportunity for learning and growth during the thesis selection process! |
