This area contains several miscellaneous features for working with the Features spreadsheet. The top portion of the toolbox is a find and replace tool for the Features and Option spreadsheet, and works as described in the Find / Replace section. Pressing the Set Default Options button will set the default option for all features that match the criteria: the feature has no default option already set, the feature does not have the Multiple Selection flag set, and the feature does not have the Optional Selection flag set. Note that the option chosen is arbitrary. To choose a speci c default option, use either the Features spreadsheet or the Feature View.

Features

features

This spreadsheet is where the majority of the editing of features will take place, and the columns represent attributes of the feature. More information on the Features spreadsheet can be found in the Spreadsheets and Features Spreadsheet sections.

Right clicking on Feature index cell entitles to Duplicate Row menu that duplicates the feature along with its option content.

Right clicking on Feature code cell entitles to Show uses in Navigator menu that shows all products that uses the selected feature in Navigator.

Feature View

featureView

The feature view is a tree representation of the feature, its options, and any subfeatures. When the feature view is first populated, the feature that was used to populate the tree will be selected for editing. However, if the current feature has sub features, they can be double-clicked in this view to begin editing them. Editing a feature in this view determines what is shown in the Options spreadsheet.

Right-clicking on elements in the list allows for some additional actions;

  • Right clicking on Feature tree views entitles to Show uses in Navigator that shows products that are assigned to the selected feature in Navigator tool. Setting and viewing Functional Sel, Sku Sel, Optional Sel and Multiple Sel of a feature. Open/Close All Below expands and hides all tree branches.
  • Right clicking on Option tree views entitles to Show option in “Feature” that navigates to selected option in option spreadsheet.  If the feature owning an option allows it, an option can be set as the default option by selecting the Set As Default Option item from the right-click menu.
  • Subfeatures and options can be removed by selecting the Remove Feature or Delete Option items, respectively.

Options can also be reordered by dragging them in this view. While an option is being dragged, a black line will be displayed to show the location the option will be in if it is dropped at that time.

Options

options

This area contains the Options spreadsheet and several controls for working with options. For more information on Options, see the Options page. The options that are shown in this spreadsheet are the options for the currently edited feature, as chosen by either the Features spreadsheet or the Feature View. More information on working with the Options spreadsheet can be found in the Spreadsheets and Options Spreadsheet sections. It is common to have options with the same code on several features that represent the same option. In these cases, selecting the Cascade changes button is useful. When this box is checked, any changes to an option will also be made to all other options that share the same code. As with other spreadsheets, columns in the Options spreadsheet may be hidden or made visible by selecting their names from the Visible Columns drop down menu.

Right clicking on the option code cell entitles to Filter Features with this Option menu which filter any feature that uses the same option code. The Remove Option From All Features will remove the same option code from all features listed in the feature spreadsheet.
