Julia Singer is a project designer for Workplace Resource Group (WRG), a Herman Miller dealership. Julia uses CET Commercial Interiors to streamline her team’s processes and save time on projects.
“I love CET and the functionality because it makes my life so much easier,” Julia said. “CET has made designing more efficient because of its speed and it’s great for specifying projects and making sure all the parts and pieces are there. The intelligence of CET makes such a difference.”
Julia has been using CET for over two years. She uses the software for space planning, renderings, specifications and gathering all parts and part numbers to create an order. Her favorite feature is the ability to create blocks, allowing her to save time creating floor plans and replicating quickly throughout a floor plate.
“CET helps me make changes on the fly, especially with the help of blocks,” Julia said. “Before CET, it used to take more time to make changes throughout an entire floor plan. Now I can use blocks to change the entire layout in a short amount of time.”
In addition to speeding up the design process, Julia says CET has helped standardize the installation process for her dealership. Last summer, Julia created standard installation drawings for her team so everyone can be on the same page and produce the same style of drawing every time. This also ensures installers and project managers who are in the field receive consistent information.
“The templates, standards and setups in CET help create a uniform process throughout our department,” Julia said. “We’re now looking at install drawings sooner and catching changes at the top of a project rather than at the very end when our team is at the client site. Finding these changes sooner has resulted in significantly fewer design errors.”

Julia also adds the intelligence of CET and the ability to streamline projects has saved her dealership valuable time and money.
Julia earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design from Bowling Green University in Ohio. She started her commercial furniture career four years ago in New Mexico at a small dealership and then relocated to Texas in 2018. Her favorite part of the design process is piecing everything together like a puzzle.
“I love seeing an empty blank slate and figuring how we can fill it and make it best work for the needs of the space,” Julia said.
