Configura Sverige AB (“Configura”) desires to protect your privacy and this document explains the privacy policies for this web site (“Configura Web Site”). By accessing the Configura Web Site, you agree to all the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. Configura Sverige AB reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time, at its sole discretion, without notice.
Configura strives to adhere to privacy laws and internationally accepted privacy principles established by Sweden’s 1998 Personal Data Act and the European Union Data Protection Directive (officially Directive 95/46/EU on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data) to ensure that your personal information is protected adequately.
1. Personal And Business Site Information.
(a). Collection. Configura may request personal and business site information from you when you request us to provide a service or carry out a transaction. This may include but is not limited to when you are receiving information about Configura products and services; when you are purchasing, downloading and/or registering Configura products; and/or when you are corresponding with us or engaging in certain other activities in the Configura Web Site. The personal information Configura collects may include but is not limited to your name, home address, title, company or organization name, work e-mail, work phone, work address, information about your job function, information about your company, credit card information, and/or software and hardware of your computer. If you request technical support online, Configura may ask you for additional information necessary to complete the transaction such as the information about your computer hardware, software, and the nature of the problem you are experiencing.
This information is collected using encryption technology to help prevent any third party from intercepting the information. Your credit card information is only used for completing the transaction and is retained only as necessary for administration purposes.
You make the decision as to whether to proceed with any activity that requests personal information. If you do not wish to provide the requested information, however, you may not be able to complete the transaction.
(b). Use. Configura may use the personal information that is collects from you in Section 1(a) above to operate the Configura Web Site and to provide the service(s) or carry out the transaction(s) you have requested or authorized. Configura may also use your personal information to provide you with important information about the Configura product or service that you are using, including updates and notifications.
Configura may use other companies to provide certain services on its behalf. This may include services such as web site hosting, packaging, mailing, handling order processing, billing, and/or other type of service. Configura will only provide personal information that is necessary or required for the company to provide the service. At all times, the company is required to maintain the security and confidentiality of the personal information and is strictly prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.
2. Cookies.
Configura may use cookies on the Configura Web Site from time to time. A cookie is a unique text file containing a string of characters that uniquely identifies your browser. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
Configura uses cookies to improve the quality of its service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends, such as how people search. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Configura features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.
3. Website Traffic.
Configura Web Site may contain electronic images known as web beacons, also known as clear GIFs or single-pixel GIFs which are small image files that allow Configura to accurately count the number of unique users who have visited a specific page on the Configura Web Site and the number of times those pages are displayed.
Third party service providers may use these web beacons to place a cookie on your computer. This allows the third party service provider to recognize your computer each time you visit certain pages or emails and compile anonymous information in relation to those page views. Configura prohibits web beacons from being used to collect or access your personal information.
4. Notice. Configura informs you what information it collects, how it is used, whether it may be temporarily transferred to others to provide the products or services requested and how to contact Configura with privacy inquiries. Configura provides a link to Configura's Privacy Policy on its Web Site, and in e-mails, where applicable.
5. Choice.
Configura offers customers and individuals who provide us information choices about receiving further communications from us; for example, our e-mail newsletters are sent only to those who have expressly asked to receive them, and the newsletters have a link to use to opt out of receiving future messages. Configura may ask individuals if they wish to participate in market research, and then contact them if they give us their permission. Configura does not contact customers or individuals for marketing purposes for those persons who have contacted Configura directly to opt out of our direct marketing programs.
6. Onward Transfer (Transfers to Third Parties).
Configura may store and process the personal information that it collects in Sweden or any other country in which Configura or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities. By using the Configura Web Site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country. 7. Children and Minors.
Children are not eligible to use the Configura Web Site and/or Configura’s products and services and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the Configura Web Site. Configura does not knowingly solicit personal information from or market to anyone under the age of majority nor intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Should Configura receive personal information from a child under the age of 13, Configura shall comply with the applicable children’s privacy laws and regulations. 8. Technology.
Configura uses technology in order to better serve its customers and others. Configura informs customers or individuals when Configura uses technologies that are privacy related.
9. Data Integrity & Access.
Configura takes steps to make sure that the personal information Configura uses is correct. Configura provides customers and individuals with reasonable access to the personal information they may have provided us so that they can review and correct it, or ask us not to use it. 10. Security.
Configura protects personal information under its control by industry standard security practices and measures, in order to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction. Configura limits access to personal information to those who have a business need. Configura does not keep personal information any longer than necessary to meet the business purpose for which it was collected, though in some cases, legal or regulatory reasons require that personal information not be deleted.
