For us Configurians innovation is part of everyday life, since our mission is to be at the forefront in graphical product configuration. Our employees are united by the vision to show the potential that Configura® has and to promote its use worldwide.

When joining Configura a personal development plan will be created for you, offering you the opportunity to choose the direction in which you wish to grow with the company. You can become a project realization specialist, a project leader, a business development manager or a software development specialist.

The following presentations will give you an idea of the different job areas at Configura.

Software Production

In our production department most of the work is carried out in project teams, generally ranging from two to six persons. Both the group and the individuals take responsibility for carrying out projects efficiently and delivering the best solutions possible to our customers. This involves creating a clear picture of what the client company's products and sales processes demand, which in turn forms the basis for programming, testing and the overall customization. The training and introduction of newly employed programmers will take from three to six months. Once Application Consultant, he/she can advance to Senior Application Consultant and take the role of Project Manager or become a technical specialist within a certain area.

Application Consultant (AC)
The application consultants mainly use object oriented programming, based on C, with the program code being written with the help of Emacs. Usually they have a technical education at university level and are familiar with C and C++ programming. The work consists of creating graphical components with advanced 2D and 3D functionality, which involves spending time planning solutions and solving problems, in order to create an optimal end result.

Senior Application Consultant (SAC)
The Senior Application Consultant is a very experienced programmer with a comprehensive perspective.

Project Manager (PM)
The Project Manager is still working as a programmer even if the main task is the project realization. This demands some administrative knowledge and the ability to create and retain good customer relations, since he/she is the main technical contact with the customer. Regular follow-ups with the Senior Project Manager concerning project resource allocation are a necessity.

Research and Development

The focus for the Research and Development department is the future software development. These programmers are software development specialists and do not work in project teams or in customisations. Their mission is to be in the forefront of graphic product configuration development worldwide; to present solutions that our customers didn't even know were possible.
