Configura announces launch of Aurora Storage Products’ CET Designer Extension
August 15, 2011
Configura Inc. announces the launch of Aurora Storage Products’ CET Designer Extension. Aurora joins a list of manufacturers that includes Steelcase, Haworth, Teknion, Spacefile, KI, Inscape, Carvajal Espacios and Solinoff, which also have chosen the CET Designer solution.
Aurora Storage Products of Aurora, Illinois, is a leading manufacturer of storage and filing equipment. The company’s product details are built into the rules-based CET Designer software, which automatically calculates technical information, quantities, parts numbers and pricing. Detailed system images can produce 2D and 3D drawings and photorealistic renderings and videos.
“We’re excited about what this means for our employees and dealers,” said Roy Koch, president of Aurora Storage Products. “They’ll be able to respond very quickly – and very creatively – to clients’ and prospects’ needs for presentations, pricing and other bid and ordering materials. It’s powerful software.”
A video created by Aurora shows how quickly the company’s pre-configured and customized storage units can be specified.

“The software is fast and smart – it saves users from making mistakes,” Aurora Technical Services Manager Donna Dunley said.
Configura Extension Technology (CET) is the basis for CET Designer software and Extensions. It’s based on Parametric Graphical Configuration (PGC), a technology and business model developed by Configura that simplifies the complex selling process for those who specify configurable products. Because product details and rules are built into Extensions, dealerships that sell the product lines can focus on design. The software does not require AutoCAD but easily imports AutoCAD files and can export to AutoCAD.
“CET Designer software gives manufacturers, dealers and their designers a whole new level of accurately and cost-effectively exploring different possibilities and serving customers better,” said Configura Vice President Peter Brandinger. “The software is a complete solution.”
Configura serves the European and North and South American markets and counts 8,300 software users across the globe.
