Configura signs Aurora Storage Products for new Extension

Configura Inc. announces its newest client on the CET Designer® software platform: Aurora Storage Products of Aurora, Illinois, has selected Configura to produce a CET Designer Extension for its product lines. Aurora is a leading manufacturer of filing and storage equipment.
Aurora’s product details will be built into the rules-based software, which automatically calculates technical information, quantities, parts numbers and pricing. Detailed system images can be produced as 2-dimensional drawings or photorealistic renderings from multiple perspectives.

It features built-in flexibility to easily revise quotes and drawings. Configura Extension Technology (CET) is the basis for CET Designer software and Extensions. It’s based on Parametric Graphical Configuration (PGC), a technology and business model developed by Configura that simplifies the complex selling process for those who specify configurable products.

Because product details and rules are built into Extensions, dealerships that sell the product lines can focus on design and specification, while “behind the scenes,” the software automatically calculates the technical information, including quantities, parts numbers and pricing.
CET Designer enables effective communication between the sales staff and manufacturing management – and it’s also a highly effective tool for communicating with clients.
“By providing exact specifications, photo-realistic renderings and virtual fly-through video experiences – plus the ability to easily do changes on-the-fly – end-customer satisfaction is greatly increased,” Configura Vice President Peter Brandinger said. “CET software gives the designers a whole new level of accurately and cost-effectively exploring different possibilities and serving customers better.”
Configura serves the European and North and South American markets and counts 8,000 software users across the globe. In North and South America, CET Designer Extensions include:

- Mepal iMAGINA Extension
Another Extension developed in collaboration with ProjectMatrix – ProjectSymbols – provides access to more than 80 percent of office furniture industry products. Earlier this year, KI and Inscape also signed as new clients and their respective Extensions are now being developed.
CET Designer produces photo-realistic renderings, accurate bills of materials and complete installation instructions – without relying on AutoCAD, although the software easily integrates with AutoCAD.
