Getting started with Edit Graphics [video]

At our 4th annual user conference in Las Vegas recently, we had a presentation about Edit Graphics, an Extension that many of our users have been looking forward to. To help you get started, we have created a short video showing some of the most basic features that you will use in this Extension; the Stretch feature and the Replace graphics feature.

If you want to know more, please go to the CET Designer Online Help, and keep your eyes open for more Tips & Hints on the Edit Graphics topic.

Remember to turn on the sound on your computer and loudspeakers or headphones and then press Play. You can watch the video in fullscreen mode.

About Edit Graphics

The Edit Graphics Extension is a free Extension in CET Designer. It is found under Other in the Extension Manager. Edit Graphics lets you create special objects in CET Designer by manipulating standard symbols found in manufacturer extensions and Project Symbols. Frequently used commands in Edit Graphics enables you to stretch and shrink objects (i.e. stretch a desk), delete elements of the symbol (i.e. delete a door front), or copy an element from one object and paste to another (i.e. copy a drawer pull). You can even replace the graphics of an object by copying the properties of an AutoCAD or SketchUp symbol.

The Edit Graphics Extension will help you be able to create complete and accurate quotes and renderings for full project specification.

After downloading and installing the Edit Graphics Extension, you will see there are two tabs for this Extension on your component tab list. The tabs' icons are identical but the first one is for Edit Graphics (Symbols), which allows manipulation of an entire symbol. The second is Edit Graphics (Meshes), which allows edits to individual meshes or elements of a component (i.e. drawer pull, drawer, or caster).

Hello Chris! You can edit Project Matrix blocks now using the tools on the Edit Graphics (Meshes) tab. They enable more advanced editing than the ones I presented in the video. To further answer your question, there are currently no plans on making it easier and quicker to edit Project Matrix blocks. /Sara
Hi Elyse, thanks for your comment. I am planning more videos on the Edit Graphics tool, but I'm trying to keep each one rather short. I think it's easier then to learn and remember the different features. But more videos are coming! //Sara
