System Requirements
Highly graphical and rules-based, CET Designer works best when the following system requirements are met.
Note: These system requirements are valid for CET Designer version 2.3. Find system requirements for earlier versions here.
VIDEO: In this Hardware Comparison video you will see the difference between a computer that meet the large drawing system recommendations and one with minimum system requirements.
Large drawing system recommendations
Note: These system recommendations are for work with large drawings. Please see the large drawing definition as well as specific certified graphics cards below1,2

1) The definition of large drawings is based on the number of drawing objects
(i.e. CET Designer smart objects, Project Symbols objects, imported AutoCAD drawings and the number of textures used). Taking this into account a large drawing could for example contain between 50 and 500 workstations with the above system recommendations and requirements. Kitchen drawings are usually not definied as large drawings.
2) For a more detailed look at technical details on graphics cards, system requirements and system recommendations, we have prepared this document (pdf).
Minimum system requirements:
Note: Suitable only for small projects less than for example 25 workstations (Note: Please see the large drawing definition above1)

1) Unless your graphics card supports at least OpenGL 2.0 or better, CET Designer may not be able to run on your computer at all.
2) Use of integrated graphics is not recommended. The usage of an integrated graphics card, or “graphics accelerator”, will significantly reduce performance and may cause program related issues.
Supported operating systems
- Windows XP Professional SP3
- Windows 71
- Windows Vista SP22
1) Windows 7 has been tested in our lab environments. To ensure best performance, make sure that write-cache is enabled for your disks. Please contact CET Designer Help Desk for any help needed on improving performance under Windows 7.
2) Windows Vista has been thoroughly tested in our lab environments, and we have concluded that in some cases users may experience problems running CET Designer on Vista. To ensure best performance, make sure that write-cache is enabled for your disks. Please contact CET Designer Help Desk for any help needed on improving performance under Windows Vista.
If you are planning to upgrade or buy new hardware and are unsure about our recommendations or the system requirements, please contact our Help Desk and we will be happy to assist you.

User requirements
Users will need to have the privilege level to install software on the local device. The software should be installed as the user who will be using it.
Firewall requirements
HTTP, port 80:
ftp.cet-extensions.net
mirror1.cet-extensions.net
www.cet-extensions.net
HTTPS, port 443:

Note, for Kitchen users to be able to contact the ordering system, following settings need to be done in the firewall:
ip: 195.198.211.2
Port 20 and 21
FTP-Marbodal's server
Known issue: if you are using a fortigate firewall you need to add the IP address and URL for your sites to the filter area on the fortigate to be able to download extensions.
