System Requirements CET Designer 2.1

CET Designer is a complete software solution for designing, specifying, ordering and selling complex products in the contract furniture industry. Highly graphical and rules-based, CET Designer works best with the following:
 
Note: These system requirements are valid for CET Designer version 2.1. 

Note: These are required in order to work with large drawings¹
 
• Windows XP Professional SP2 or later (32bit or 64bit editions)
• Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0 SP1 or later
• Intel™ Core® 2 Duo T9300 2.50GHz for mobile applications or E8400 3.00 GHz for stationary machines or equivalent AMD Athlon® processor or better
• 4 GB RAM
• 1600 x 1200 monitor
• 7200 RPM drive required, 10000 RPM (Raptor and Velociraptor for example) recommended
• Graphics card: GeForce Nvidia 8 or 9, ATI RADEON HD 4870 series or better
• Available disk space: 200 MB at install location and 
• 1+ GB at primary drive (c:) per unique CET Designer user of the computer
• Internet: Broadband connection
• Mouse with a scroll wheel

1) The definition of what a large drawing is varies depending on the number of drawing objects (i.e. CET objects, ProjectSymbols objects, imported AutoCAD drawings/objects, the number of textures used) and their inherent level of detail.  Taking this into account the number of workstations a large drawing could contain varies between 50 and 500 with the above system recommendations and requirements.

*) Other chipsets will cause CET Designer to run in "Compability mode" significantly reducing performance.
Note: CET Designer® will not run on older Windows operating systems.

• Graphics Card: 256 MB dedicated memory, with support for OpenGL 2.0 or better^{1, 2}
• Monitor: 1280x1024, 32-bit color
• Available disk space: 200 MB at install location and 600 MB at primary drive (c:) per unique CET Designer user of the computer
• Internet: Broadband connection
• Mouse with a scroll wheel

1)      Unless your graphics card supports at least OpenGL 2.0 or better, CET Designer may not be able to run on your computer at all.
2)      Use of graphics accelerator or integrated graphics is NOT recommended. The usage of an integrated graphics card, or graphics accelerator, will significantly reduce performance and may cause program related issues.

• Windows 2000 Workstation: Latest service pack
• Windows XP Professional: Latest service pack
• Windows Vista (Recommended ram 3+ GB and minimum RAM is 2 GB)
*) CET Designer has been tested on, and can be run on Windows Vista. Windows Vista has been thoroughly tested in our lab environments, and we have concluded that in some cases users may experience problems running CET on Vista. To ensure best performance, make sure that write-cache is enabled for your disks. Please contact CET Support for more tips on improving performance under Windows vista.

Known issue: if you are using a fortigate firewall you need to add the IP address and URL for your sites to the filter area on the fortigate to be able to download extensions.
