Release Notes - CET Designer® 2.5.1

New feature

  • If a dwg file contains errors, CET Designer now displays a dialog box with information about this, see Figure 1 below. The purpose is to inform the user about the number of errors and whether or not the program has been able to recover the file.

Solved issues

Simple graphics engine

  • Very long file paths and/or file names (exceeding 253+3 characters) could sometimes stop the simple graphics engine from responding. This problem has now been fixed.

Advanced graphics engine

  • Occasionally, it was not possible to start the advanced graphics engine due to a conflict with other software. A workaround to temporarily solve this has been implemented and the problem has been reported to driver manufacturers. This workaround is automatically utilised by CET Designer, users do not have to take any actions for it to work.

  • The hardware detection could sometimes fail to recognize supported hardware, asserting that the system did not support hardware acceleration. This issue has now been solved.

Working with CAD drawings

  • A change for how CET Designer handles the import of damaged dwg files has been implemented. Files containing very large amounts of faults and errors (10 000 to 100 000+ errors) should now repair and import much faster.

  • You can check if a dwg file contains errors by performing an audit. To do this, open the file in AutoCAD. Go to the AutoCAD menu and select Drawing Utilities followed by selecting Audit. AutoCAD will ask if you wish to repair the drawing. Regardless of your answer, AutoCAD should in the end count and present to you the number of errors detected in the audited drawing.

Calculation

  • Selecting and copying a cell in an Article view would cause entire rows to be copied instead. This issue has been solved and CET Designer should now correctly copy only the selected cell or row.

ProjectSymbols

  • Some systems could crash because of a couple of issues with Polygon Reduction. These issues has now been solved.

Part tagging

  • Previously, pasting a copied part tagging rectangle could sometimes cause CET Designer to crash. This problem has now been solved.

  • In rare cases, part tagging rectangles, pick lists or text boxes/labels could become visible as rectangles in 3D. This issue has now been fixed.

  • Some part tagging categories have previously failed to correctly highlight objects that are part of those categories. This problem has been fixed and included objects are now highlighted in green.

Paper view

  • Occasionally, CET Designer would freeze when switching to Paper view with malfunctioning printers set (broken or not correctly installed, for example). This problem has now been solved.

Components

  • Pasting of objects that cannot stand alone (such as attached pedestals) could previously cause a program crash. This issue has now been fixed.

  • Architectural symbols from the CET Symbol Library will now always show on top of other objects in order to maintain visibility.

Extension Manager

  • Trying to cancel a download in progress from the Extension Manager could sometimes cause a crash. This issue has now been solved.

User interface

  • The tool 2D Arcs on the Tools component tab is now correctly named as such, instead of Arcs 2D Arcs, as was previously the case.

Performance

  • Green input boxes (or quick properties) could sometimes cause the program to crash. This bug has now been fixed.
  • Some machines would crash during the startup of CET Designer. This issue has now been solved.
