CET Designer 1.5

Apart from stability improvements of existing functionality CET Designer 1.5 offers several new features.

New appearance of the Extension Manager

Changes have been made to the Extension Manager, in order for you to get a better overview of your current licenses and their validity. Among others, the license information is no longer displayed in a separate section (former called My Licenses). Instead, individual information is shown to the right in the My Extensions section for each selected extension.

You will also notice that there is a new button in the top area of the Extension Manager, named My Buyers. Here you will find information about your buyer or buyers, i.e. the person paying for your licenses. Read more about the new CET Designer buyer/user concept below.

New Buyer/User concept

The new buyer/user concept in CET Designer 1.5 allows dealerships to have one or several buyers per office to manage all end-user licenses.

If you are the buyer:
As a buyer, you set up a buyer account by going to the Home section in the Extension Manager and clicking the License Buyer link to the right. Choose to set up an account and simply follow the steps in the registration wizard that opens. Finally you set an activation code and e-mail this to the end users who are to receive a license. When this is done, order the desired number of licenses using the ordering wizard.

If you are the end user:
As a user, go to the My Buyers section in the program's Extension Manager, register your buyer and use the activation code that you have received from your buyer to activate your license.

CET Designer Licensing Made Easier

The product licensing process for CET Designer has been streamlined in version 1.5. Gone is the step of dragging and dropping a new license from an e-mail to the Extension Manager; now the activation occurs automatically when a new license is ordered.

ProjectSymbols for CET Designer - New Extension Available

A partnership signed by Configura and ProjectMatrix earlier this year has resulted in a new extension, available to all users in the office furniture business. The extension is called ProjectSymbols for CET Designer and includes AutoCAD symbol libraries in 2D and 3D, graphically representing products from 60 different manufacturers’ catalogs. ProjectSymbols for CET Designer makes product lines available that have not yet been developed in CET Designer’s native format.

All products in the new extension have up-to-date prices, ensuring accurate and instant price calculations.

Possible to Control the Visibility of Components

Now it is possible to control the visibility of some generic components in CET Designer, such as text, dimensions, print frames and arrows. This means that you can determine that a component should be visible only in a certain view mode. For example, if you wish to have dimensions showing on the installation drawing only, you place the dimensions when you are in the Installation view mode.

By right-clicking a component and selecting the Visibility and categorization option, you can change the visibility settings. If you wish to view all components at the same time, select the new View all button.

Office Lighting

To quickly get a realistic lighting setup for your office environments, try the new predefined lighting settings that are available in 1.5. Simply select the Office lighting option under Rendering Options - Lighting in the 3D view toolbar.

Currency Setting Saved with Project

Instead of inheriting the currency setting from CET Designer, the selected currency is now saved with the project.

Faster Update of the Calculation

You might have experienced that opening up the Calculation dialog in CET Designer has been slow, especially if you have been working with larger drawings. In CET Designer 1.5, the process of updating the calculation has been improved.
