Release Notes - the RevLink Extension

The RevLink Extension is now launched!

The CET Designer RevLink Extension will enable you to create and post families of CET Designer articles. These families will be available and downloadable to architects, designers, dealers – anyone who helps to create buildings and office space – in order to design a truly realistic environment, populated with furniture and other accessories.

Below is a detailed list of what you can do in the RevLink Extension.

About the RevLink Extension

The RevLink Extension creates an interactive connection between CET Designer and Revit Architecture 2010.

To be able to use the RevLink Extension in CET Designer you have to do two things:

  1. Download the RevLink Extension from CET Designer's Extension Manager, as usual. When you have downloaded RevLink, the RevLink features will be found on its own tab in CET Designer's component area.

  2. Install a RevLink Add-in in Revit Architecture to be able to connect to Revit Architecture from CET Designer. You can download the Add-in from the Configura website.

Creating families

In the RevLink Extension you will be able to create Family files (Revit objects) for Revit Architecture. A Family file contains of one or more types. To be able
to create families you need to tag the articles on the
drawing area that you would like to include in the family.

When you have tagged the articles that you wish to include in the family, use the Family Exporter tool to finally create the families.

Synchronizing drawings between Revit and CET Designer

You can synchronize your drawings back and forth between Revit and CET Designer using a TCP/IP connection. Use the Synchronize from Revit Architecture to CET tool or the Synchronize from CET to Revit tool.

Just click the tool and follow the instructions.
