Find out more about the CET Designer 2.2 release
Yesterday CET Designer 2.2 was launched. As you have seen here on the website, we have tried to enlighten the new graphics engine as much as possible. Are you working with very large projects this will help you a lot in your daily work; this of course require more from your computer.
It can be difficult to understand the differences between a fast computer and a slower one. Amy Edington has made a video about Hardware Comparison where you can clearly see a difference in how computers are working. I also recommend you to have a look at this article about the new graphics engine as well. Or why not have a look at Johan Lyreborn’s blog post about graphics cards.

The power of the Graphics Card will change your day
Traditionally the graphics card has been to the benefit for gamers. Graphics card manufacturers and the gaming industry have pushed the development to the extreme so we today have more computing power in the graphic card than in the main computer. This is great and it’s time for us outside the gaming industry to leverage from this development.
- Faster graphics. More 2D and 3D components/objects in your project.
- Real-time rendering. Photo-realistic images instantly shown on the screen while you work with your project.
- Compatibility. Not all graphics card will function properly with your computer and your applications. How do we suppose to know those things? We are not gamers?
- Graphics card drivers. Old or even the latest graphics card driver can make your application to malfunction. How do we suppose to know those things?
One thing is for sure, the graphic card power is here and we better start using it. I am thrilled by the possibilities!
